TetraMin with NEW Active Formula

For nearly 50 years, TetraMin has been the world's most advanced and best selling tropical flake food. This has been achieved through constant investment in R&D and cutting edge technology, unmatched by any other fish food. The results are a flake food that provides the very best nutrition for your fish, coupled with a minimal amount of waste production.

Now TetraMin has been improved even further, with the addition of BioActive formula . BioActive formula is a scientific blend of ingredients that work to improve the health, vitality and condition of fish in aquariums.

Firstly, BioActive formula reduces your fishes' response to stress. Stress is the main cause of disease in aquarium fish, as it weakens their immune system and predisposes them to infection. Many common diseases, such as fin rot, fungus, and white spot, are precipitated by excessive stress. At times it is impossible to avoid stress, and it is at these times when fish are most vulnerable. By actively reducing the effects of stress, BioActive formula reduces the likelihood of disease, and keeps your fish healthier and happier.

Secondly, BioActive formula stimulates the immune system, thus increasing your fishes' ability to resist disease and remain healthy. By doing so, the chances of your fish developing a health problem are reduced.

Thirdly, BioActive formula contains ingredients that improve the way in which the nutrients in TetraMin are used. The food is therefore used more efficiently, resulting in improved energy levels and condition.

TetraMin with BioActive formula has been thoroughly researched and developed by Tetra's R&D facilities in Melle, Germany, which are the largest laboratories for studying ornamental fish nutrition in the world. No other food contains BioActive formula , and tests have proven the benefits of TetraMin with BioActive formula against other types of flake food.

More about the ingredients in Active Formula:

Vitamins
All fish have a general requirement for vitamins, to ensure good growth, health, and overall condition. Whilst TetraMin has always supplied the correct vitamin levels to meet the needs of your fish, BioActive formula contains certain vitamins in carefully added ‘megadoses'.

Megadoses refer to the inclusion of very high levels of certain vitamins, in scientifically optimised combinations. The inclusion of vitamins such as vitamin C, E, and A, in megadoses has been shown to improve the resistance of fish to stress and disease.

Biotin
Biotin is a B-group vitamin that is included in fish foods as part of some commonly used ingredients, such as cereals and yeasts. Although TetraMin has always contained biotin as part of its ingredients, Active BioActive formula actually contains additional biotin. Additional biotin has a positive effect on the immune system, the utilisation of dietary nutrients, and in the release of energy.

Immunostimulants
There are a variety of compounds that have been shown to enhance the immune system of fish, helping to prevent disease from occurring. Although many novel immunostimulants are being identified, there are very few that have been reliably proved to have a positive effect. BioActive formula contains a selection of proven immunostimulants, including beta-glucan. Beta-glucan is a natural product, found in the cells walls of yeasts, cereals and fungi, which stimulates the immune system and helps to maintain health and prevent infection.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids
All tropical fish have a requirement for certain ‘essential' fatty acids, i.e. those that they must have in their diet. TetraMin has always delivered the correct quantity and type of fatty acids, but Active Formula introduces additional ‘omega-3' fatty acids to the diet. The type of omega-3 fatty acids present in BioActive formula , have been shown to improve the functioning of the immune system, and to increase energy levels.
